The New I-64 is Under Way

Construction to rebuild Interstate 64/Route 40 in St. Louis began in March 2007. All lanes of I-64/US 40 between Ballas Road and Interstate 170 closed in both directions on Jan. 2 and will remain closed for the year. This five-mile stretch of highway will reopen by Dec. 31. Additional construction will begin in 2009. View the entire four-year construction plan, the current traffic impacts and traffic rush-hour summary at a special Web site page. I-64

Knowledge is Power

Motorists now have 48 new message signs to provide traffic information and help reduce congestion on heavily traveled sections of Interstates 70 and 44. The signs help motorists avoid delays and get to their destination safely with timely traffic information, and are part of MoDOT's new Driving Edge initiative that provides highway information before you travel, along the way and around the clock.
