The Missouri Department of Transportation, Construction and Materials Division, from their research has determined that only one oven, the Troxler model 4731 Asphalt Ignition Oven can meet the specific requirements they are seeking in a asphalt ignition oven.  Some of the specific requirements are: 1) the oven must use an infrared heat source to measure asphalt content using the National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT) ignition method, this in turn uses less energy and produces a better histograph of combustion; 2) does not require a temperature correction factor for higher temperatures; and, 3) has reduced emissions compared to other ignition ovens.  A purchase order for the approximate amount of, $8,000.00 may be issued to Troxler Electronic Laboratories, Inc., Research Triangle Park, NC., on March 18, 2008, for the above-described equipment.

MoDOT intends to purchase a service agreement, with all related services, for MoDOT’s ARAN vans, to include all other, proprietary, Fugro-Roadware Group, Inc. provided equipment.  The vendor designed the vans, and installed existing software and upgrades, into the vans.  The software and design are propriety to the vendor.
