JEFFERSON CITY - The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the week of May 21-25, 2012. Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures and delays can be expected. MoDOT reminds the public to buckle up, slow down, follow posted signing and drive safely through work areas. Mowing of right of way is underway in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow moving equipment along the roadside.
Boone County
Daylight Hours
Interstate 70 between mile markers 133 and 138 – Asphalt overlay in the westbound lanes will take place Monday, May 21 through Thursday, May 24. One westbound lane will be open through the work area.
Route 63 from just north of Route 163 to Route H – Construction of a new diamond interchange and southbound lanes. Motorists should expect periodic lane closures.
* Route H is temporarily closed at U.S. 63. Traffic is being detoured to Hardwick Lane, located near the U.S. 63 roadside park. Route H will remain closed at U.S. 63 until the new interchange opens to traffic.
* Motorists should be prepared for periodic reductions in speed limits through the work area.
The entire project is scheduled for completion in late 2012.
Route 40 between mile Interstate 70 and Route UU – Roadside maintenance will take place on Wednesday, May 23. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Overnight Hours
Route 163 between Interstate 70 and Route 63 – Concrete repair will take place Monday, May 21 through Friday, May 25. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Callaway County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route PP bridge over Middle Creek west of County Road 470 – Bridge replacement is complete. The bridge was opened to traffic on May 17. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
Route 94 bridge over East Wing Creek east of Route C – Bridge replacement is scheduled to begin the week of May 21. The bridge will be closed to traffic through early July. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the construction. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
Overnight Hours
Route 54 between Route AC and the Missouri River Bridge – Concrete repair will take place Tuesday, May 22 and Wednesday, May 23. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Daylight Hours
Route PP between Route 94 and Route BB – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, May 21 through Thursday, May 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Camden County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 54 at the Route 5 Interchange in Camdenton – Sidewalk construction and ramp widening is near completion. Minor cleanup work is expected, as the project finishes. Motorists should expect occasional lane closures.

Cole County
Daylight Hours
Route 54 between Old Bass Road and Route CC – Improvements at 12 intersections along 8.5 miles of U.S. 54 to improve safety and traffic flow.
* Crews are implementing acceleration and deceleration lanes, offset turn lanes, lighting, and other lane modifications at the intersections of Buffalo Road and Heritage Highway. One lane of U.S. 54 in each direction will remain open at all times. However, motorists should be prepared for possible delays.
The entire corridor is scheduled for completion in fall 2012.
Route 179 between Route C and Edgewood Drive – Grading, drainage, and bridge paving for a new interchange. Periodic lane closures may occur, and motorists are advised to use caution through the area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2012.
Route D bridge over the Moreau River, south of Stringtown Road – Bridge maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 22 through Thursday, May 31. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Overnight Hours
Route 179 between Route 50 and Industrial Drive – Roadway maintenance will take place on Monday, May 21 and Tuesday, May 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route N bridge over the Bourbon River south of Bourbon – Bridge replacement is complete. The bridge was opened to traffic on May 17. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
Route O bridge over Pine Branch southwest of Route 19 – Bridge replacement is scheduled to begin the week of May 21. The bridge will be closed to traffic through mid July. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the construction. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Route 49 between Route V and the Iron County line – Roadside maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 22 through Thursday, May 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Route M between Route 8 and Stiller Road – Roadway maintenance will take place on Monday, May 21. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Route Y between the Washington County line and the Iron County line – Roadside maintenance will take place on Wednesday, May 23. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Route WW between the I-44 North Outer Road and the end of state maintenance – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, May 21 through Thursday, May 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 32 bridge over Spring Creek in Salem – Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic through late June. Motorists are advised to use a nearby bypass or find an alternate route around the construction. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
Route H bridge over Holt Creek west of Route DD – Bridge replacement is under way. The bridge will be closed to traffic through late June. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the construction. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
Route NN bridge over Dry Fork Creek west of Route F – Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic through early June. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the construction. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Route 32 between Route 72 and Route P – Roadside maintenance will take place on Monday, May 21. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Route 119 between Route 32 and the end of state maintenance – Roadside maintenance will take place Tuesday, May 22 through Thursday, May 31. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Z bridge over Walker Creek just south of Route 32 – Bridge replacement is complete. The bridge was opened to to traffic on May 17. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Route 63 between County Road 325 and County Road 519 – Concrete repair will take place on Thursday, May 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Route E between Route 28 and the end of state maintenance – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, May 21 through Wednesday, May 23. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 135 between Route 50 and Route 52 – Roadway resurfacing is complete. Striping is planned for the week of May 21. One lane will be open to traffic through the work area. This is a moving operation, and motorists should drive with care through the area.

Route 8 between Interstate 44 and Route 68 – Culvert pipe repair in various locations will take place Monday, May 21 through Thursday, May 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Route B between Route 68 and the Gasconade County line – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, May 21 through Thursday, May 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
