COLUMBIA – The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an open-house public meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 25 to update the public and gather input about plans to widen Route 763 in Boone County from Big Bear Blvd. north to Route 63.


The meeting will take place from 4-7 p.m. in the Oakland Junior High School Cafeteria located at 3405 Oakland Place in Columbia. The public is invited to attend the meeting anytime during the advertised hours. Project displays will be available at the meeting and staff from MoDOT will be on hand to answer questions about the proposed improvements.


Right of way will be needed to construct the project. Construction of the project is scheduled to begin in 2008.


MoDOT, the City of Columbia and Boone County are sharing the cost of the project.


Maps and other plan details prepared by MoDOT will be available for public inspection and copying at the office of Roger Schwartze, Central District Engineer, 1511 Missouri Blvd. in Jefferson City, Mo. 65109.
