MoDOT Seeks Public Input for Potential Future Improvements to Route 63
Maries, Osage and Phelps Counties - The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold two open-house public meetings as part of a new environmental and location study for Route 63 through Osage, Maries, and Phelps Counties. The meetings are scheduled as follows:
Tuesday, May 1, 2007 - Westphalia Knights of Columbus Hall (one mile south of the Rte. 50/63 junction), 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Wednesday, May 2, 2007 - Vienna Knights of Columbus Hall, 206 Sixth Street, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
MoDOT is conducting this study to evaluate potential future transportation needs along the 47-mile stretch of Route 63 from ½ mile south of the Rte. 50/63 junction to just north of Rolla. The study is an objective process to help determine what actions, if any, are needed to best serve the transportation needs of the area. A preliminary range of alternatives for the location of the highway will be displayed during the meetings.
MoDOT invites those who are interested to share their ideas and questions at the meeting. No formal presentations will be made and the public can attend either meeting anytime between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
