Seasonal
Seasonal Maintenance workers must be 18 years old, posses a high school diploma or G.ED, and have
a valid commercial drivers permit without air-brake restrictions
(requires passing the written tests), tanker endorsement is
required in some areas, as well. Must have the ability to
learn the operation of equipment in the area including heavy
dump truck with snowplow, 6-foot tractor mower, front-end
loader, jack hammer and pull roller.
Ability to perform physical labor including moving materials
by hand, operating hand tools and stationary flagging is required.
Seasonal Maintenance workers typically work during the months of April through October.During this time,employers are eligible for group health insurance and earn credible service towards retirement.
Summer
When available, MoDOT offers a variety of work in many districts,
including roadway maintenance, clerical, and business and
information technology internships.
Emergency
During the winter season, on-call, emergency snow-removal
crew members are needed. You must be over 18 years old and
have a valid Class A or B Commercial Drivers License with no air-brake
restrictions.
