MoDOT has completed the Final First Tier Environmental Statement (Final FTEIS) document, which identifies a "preferred strategy" for improving I-70 from the Kansas state line to just east of I-470 and includes the entire downtown Kansas City freeway loop. 

The Final FTEIS was completed in a condensed format, highlighting changes from the Draft FTEIS.

Construction of the proposed improvements for I-70 depends on available funding, which has not been identified at this time.
