Republic: Traffic Signal and
Sidewalk Work Along
Route 60/413 Will Require Occasional Lane Closings
MoDOT, District 8, Springfield --
Lane closings are possible in various locations on U.S. 60/Route
413. Crews will continue installing permanent electrical wiring
in traffic signals. Sidewalks will be repaired between Hines and
Elm streets. A lane will be closed when concrete trucks drop off
their loads.
Be alert for one-lane traffic on Hines
Street south of U.S. 60/Route 413 at times. Crews will pour concrete
for a new curb.
Other work planned will take place
AWAY from traffic. Grass seed and mulch will be spread in various
locations.
No night work is planned for either
week.
Rain or snow will cause delays in the project.
Background
The prime contractor on the $6.1-million widening project along
U.S.60/Route 413 in Republic is Journagan Construction of Springfield.
Some sewer and water line work is being done by the City of Republic,
a partner with MoDOT on the project.
The project involves
adding a lane in each direction and rebuilding city street approaches
and driveway entrances between Hines Street and West Avenue, with
work continuing through November.
