Route 129 Bridge
in Salisbury to Open October 7
MACON - The new bridge on Route 129 over the Norfolk & Southern
Railroad in Salisbury will open on October 7 according to the
Missouri Department of Transportation.
Boone Construction Company
of Columbia began work on the project in April of this year.
The $994,426 contract included replacement of the bridge and resurfacing
the highway up to Route 24.
Work adjacent to the highway
will continue after the bridge is opened. Williams Street will
be closed until the new pavement is in place.
"We appreciate the patience
of area residents and drivers while this new bridge was constructed,"
said Area Engineer Dennis Brucks. "It is extremely gratifying
to be able to provide this wider, safer bridge and a smoother
section of highway to everyone who uses Route 129."
