Route 40 In Howard
County to be Closed for Bridge Repairs
Traffic to be detoured
onto I-70
MACON - The Missouri Department
of Transportation announced today that Route 40 will be closed
from two miles west of Route 240 to Route 5 beginning at 7:00
a.m. on November 1. Closure of the highway is necessary for
repairs to the bridge over Katy Trail.
The section of Route 40
will be closed for approximately two weeks depending on weather
conditions. MoDOT North Central District bridge maintenance
crews will replace the abutment and expansion joint on the bridge.
Traffic will be detoured
around the work zone to I-70 as will be clearly designated on
work zone signs. Motorists are encouraged to exercise extreme
caution and pay close attention when traveling in the area.
