MoDOT Opens I-44 Lanes Near
Cuba Two Weeks Early
The Missouri Department
of Transportation has nearly completed repair work on eastbound
I-44 at Cuba, Missouri. Crews opened westbound I-44 to two lanes
over the weekend. One lane is open on eastbound I-44. The final
lane on eastbound I-44 is expected to open on Wednesday, July
27. Work to resurface nine miles of I-44 near Cuba will be completed
nearly two weeks ahead of schedule.
"MoDOT would like to thank everyone for their patience during
this project. Although we understand the traveling public was
inconvenienced while work was under way, we hope motorists are
pleased with the nine miles of brand new concrete pavement and
shoulders along I-44," said District Engineer Tom Stehn.
The contractor may have single lane closures during the week to
finish miscellaneous work, but the closures will not affect weekend
traffic.
