Short Section of Route 60 near
Lake Springfield
Set to be Resurfaced at Night Week of May 22
MoDOT, District 8, Springfield -- A half-mile section of westbound
Route 60 between Highland Springs Country Club and the Lake Springfield
bridge is scheduled to be resurfaced at night beginning Sunday
night, May 22, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Drivers can expect one westbound
lane at a time to be blocked between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday
night through Friday night, May 27.
Traffic will have to slow down and
merge into the open lane.
Bright work lights will illuminate
the area where crews and equipment are located.
A contractor crew will grind off
a portion of the driving surface and then lay down a new two-inch
layer of asphalt.
The crews are working at night to
reduce traffic congestion.
The contractor doing
the work is APAC-Missouri of Columbia, for a low-bid amount of
$117,254.
