I-44/Conway Rest Area Closed
for Maintenance
One Side at a Time During Week of April 18
MoDOT, District 8, Springfield --
The Rest Area on Interstate 44 west of Conway will be closed on
one side and then the other the week of April 18 for maintenance
work needed before the summer travel season begins.
Crews will lay large patches on the
pavement, make repairs to shoulders, clean ditches and paint restroom
buildings and picnic pavilions, the Missouri Department of Transportation
said.
Here's the Rest Area closing schedule:
* Westbound side closed at about 5
a.m. Monday, April 18, and reopened late afternoon Tuesday, April
19.
* Eastbound side closed at about 5
a.m. Wednesday, April 20, and reopened late afternoon Thursday,
April 21.
The nearest MoDOT rest
areas along I-44 on either side of Conway are about an hour's
drive away -- near Rolla to the east and near Mount Vernon to
the west.
