MoDOT will spend nearly $12 million this summer to rehabilitate much of Route 63 in Adair, Macon and Randolph Counties, providing a smoother ride for citizens of north central Missouri by the end of the 2008 construction season.
Route 63 - Adair, Macon and Randolph Counties
Resurface 23 miles of Route 63 from the south Route 6 junction south of Kirksville to the south intersection of Route M at Atlanta.
Route 63 – Macon & Randolph Counties
Resurface 7 miles of the southbound lanes of Route 63 from the divided four-lane south of Macon to Jacksonville.
Route 63 – Randolph County
Resurface 15 miles of the southbound lanes of Route 63 from Route 24 to the Boone County line.
All three projects will begin this spring and will be completed by the fall. Traffic will be reduced to one-lane in the work zones with low-posted speed limits. Motorists are advised to pay close attention in and around the work zones, and obey the speed limit and other traffic control devices.
