Project Information Maps News Events Links Contact Us Home   Monroe City to Hannibal Construction pictures and videos Project Location Route 36 between Monroe City and Hannibal Part of a larger project to upgrade Route 36 to four lanes between Macon and Hannibal Partially funded through a half-cent local sales tax in Macon, Shelby, Monroe and Marion Counties Project Description Upgrade Route 36 to four-lane expressway by adding a median and two additional lanes to the existing roadway Access to the highway will continue to be through at-grade intersections Private and commercial entrances will be provided at state routes and county roads Traffic During Construction Will be maintained on existing Route 36 Temporary side road closures will be required occasionally MoDOT will make every effort to minimize inconvenience to drivers Project Costs and Schedule Right of Way negotiations will begin in 2006 Construction will be completed no later than December 31, 2010   The documents are provided in Acrobat Reader format.
