Interstate 29:  Hot-in-place recycling will be done on I-29 beginning in May from the Iowa State line south to Route 111 at Rock Port.  The resurfacing project will utilize the hot-in-place recycling method in which asphalt pavement surfaces are corrected by softening the existing surface with heat, then mechanically removing the pavement surface, mixing it with a recycling or rejuvenating agent, possibly adding virgin asphalt and/or aggregate, and replacing it on the pavement without removing the recycled material from the existing roadway.  The contractor on this project will be Ideker Corporation of St. Joseph.   This project is expected to begin in May 2008.

Buchanan County

Maintenance Projects: 

Route 169 South:  roadwork has been scheduled at the intersection of Route 169 and Leonard Road on Tuesday, May 13th (weather permitting.) Repairs will be done to the two inside lanes at this intersection from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. During this work these two lanes will be closed.  Eastbound motorists on Route 169 that want to go north on Leonard Road will have to go past Leonard Road and turn around and use the westbound lanes to access Leonard Road. Motorists leaving Love's Truck stop will not be able to make a left turn onto Route 169 during this work. Motorists will have to turn right. This work is planned to take one day only to complete. Motorists will be directed by flaggers and signs.

Caldwell County

Route 13:  a resurfacing project is scheduled for this summer on Route 13 in Caldwell County.  Route 13 will be resurfaced from Business 36 in Hamilton to south of Route V near Polo, for a total length of approximately 15 miles.  The work is scheduled to begin later this construction season.  Prior to contract work scheduled for the road, MoDOT maintenance forces in the area will be continuing to make surface repairs in preparation of the asphalt overlay.  During the contractors resurfacing project, Route 13 will be narrowed to one lane and motorists will be guided through the work zone by a pilot car.  The contractor on the project will be Ideker, Inc. of St. Joseph.

Route 36:  Norris Asphalt Paving Co. has been awarded a contract to resurface Route 36 in Caldwell County.  The length of the project is 15.872 miles from east of the intersection of Route P to west of the intersection of Route M and Route A near Hamilton.  This project is expected to begin Summer 2008.

Clinton County

Maintenance Projects:

Route 69:  area maintenance crews will be doing a crack sealing oepration on all driving lanes of Route 69 through the City of Cameron.  On Monday, May 12th, crews will begin this moving operation and one lane will be closed around the work zone.  Flaggers will direct motorists around the work zone.  Weather permitting, this work is scheduled to take two weeks to complete.

Construction Projects:

Route 69:  The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has awarded a contract to Herzog Contracting Corp., of St. Joseph for a resurfacing project on Route 69 in Clinton County.  A six-mile section of Route 69 will be resurfaced from Route 116 to the Clay County line near the town of Lawson.  Work is expected to take approximately six weeks to complete (weather permitting).  During the resurfacing project the road will be narrowed to one lane and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.  This project is expected to begin in early July.

Route 136:  Vance Brothers, Inc., has been awarded a contract to resurface Route 136 in Gentry County.  The length of this project will be 3.673 miles from east of Route 169 to west of Route C near Albany.  This project is expected to begin Summer 2008.

Daviess County

Route 6:  A resurfacing project will begin on Route 6 in Daviess County, the week of May 5th (weather permitting).  Norris Asphalt Paving Company of Ottumwa, Iowa will be the contractor on this project.  Route 6 will be resurfaced from east of Route CC to east of Route 13 near Gallatin for a total project length of 4.381.  The contractor will begin the initial milling and preparation work on Monday, May 5th.  Paving is expected to begin on May 12th (weather permitting).  During this resurfacing project the contractor will have Route 6 narrowed to one lane around the work zone.  Motorists will be directed by flaggers and a pilot car.

Harrison County

Route H:  a contract has been awarded to Norris Asphalt Paving Company of Ottumwa, Iowa for a resurfacing project on Route H in Harrison County.  Route H will receive an asphalt overlay which will begin west of Route 13 and extend east approximately eight miles to Route 146 near Gilman City.  The initial milling work is scheduled to begin the week of April 28th.  The paving is scheduled to be completed the first week of May (weather permitting.)  Route H will be narrowed to one lane around the work zone during the project.  Brief delays may be expected during this project.

I-35:  A dedication ceremony will be held at the New Eagleville Welcome Center on Friday, May 30, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.  The new Center is located on Interstate 35 just south of the Iowa state line and north of Eagleville.  The theme of the new Welcome Center is "Prairie Passage" in honor of the natural prairie and unbroken sod so prevalent in the area.  Metal silhouette sculptures of buffalo and Native Americans are displayed and a walkway of native grasses is planned for the future and is in the early stages of development.  The public is invited to attend.

Route 159:  resurfacing has been scheduled to begin on April 21, 2008 on Route 159 in Holt County.  Herzog Contracting has been awarded the contract on this project which consists of resurfacing 14 miles from the Nebraska State line to Interstate 29.  During the project the road will be narrowed to one lane around the work zone.  Motorists will be directed by flaggers and a pilot car.  The work is expected to take three to four weeks to complete (weather permitting).  This project will begin on April 21, 2008 (weather permitting).

Nodaway County

Maintenance Projects:

Route E:  has been scheduled for roadwork on Wednesday, May 14th (weather permitting.) Route E will be closed Wednesday , May 14th, approximately two and a half miles south of Route 246 for a culvert replacement from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Route E will be closed to all traffic during this time and motorists will need to choose an alternate route

Construction Projects: 

Route E:  has been scheduled for an asphalt overlay from Route 246 to Route 136 near Ravenwood for a total of 14 miles.  The contract has been awarded to Herzog Contracting Corp. of St. Joseph.  The contractor expects to begin this project in early May (weather permitting).  During this resurfacing project the contractor will have the road narrowed to one lane and motorists will be directed by a pilot car.  The work is expected to take approximately two and a half weeks to complete.
