Missouri Transportation Institute:
The Missouri Transportation Institute (MTI) is a multi-modal and multi-disciplinary consortium of 11 public and private Missouri universities and the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT). MTI is housed at the University of Missouri, Rolla. The primary purpose of MTI is to be the premiere transportation research and technology entity, and the transportation policy/planning "think tank" for Missouri, dedicated to problem solving and advancing the understanding and opportunities for transportation. MTI is also the focal point for transportation technology transfer and education in the state.
FHWA’s Highways for LIFE:
The purpose of Highways for LIFE (HfL) is to advance Long lasting highways using Innovative technologies and practices to accomplish Fast construction of Efficient and safe pavements and bridges. encouraging the implementation of research results. The Highways for LIFE web site highlights key innovations and offers success stories on how those innovations are being used to meet the goals of the initiative.
Transportation Research Board:
The TRB is a unit of the National Research Council, a private, nonprofit institution that is the principal operating agency of the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Engineering. The Board's mission is to promote innovation and progress in transportation by stimulating and conducting research, facilitating the dissemination of information, and encouraging the implementation of research results.
Research at Work:
Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s monthly success stories from the field that showcase applications of highway research and technology.
National Cooperative Highway Research Program:
The National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) was created in 1962 as a means to conduct research in acute problem areas that affect highway planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance nationwide.
AASHTO Research Advisory Committee:
This web site was developed for the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Research Advisory Committee (RAC) to demonstrate the value of research conducted by the state DOTs. It contains information on research projects that the state DOTs feel have been of great value. The information is provided and maintained by each DOT.
AASHTO Standing Committee on Quality:
The SCOQ serves as a clearinghouse for member departments, by continuously collecting and disseminating current and emerging quality initiatives and successes in partnership with the U.S. Department of Transportation, the National Quality Initiative, the National Cooperative Highway Research Program, and other quality efforts in the private sector.
Excellence in Missouri Foundation:
The Excellence in Missouri Program (EIMP) is established to generate performance excellence among all Missouri organizations and drive higher levels of quality in Missouri produced goods and services. The program is administered and managed by the Excellence in Missouri Foundation (EIMF) and consists of two components, one of which focuses on education and training, the other focuses on organizational assessment.
University Transportation Center:
UTC's vision is to maintain Internationally recognized centers of excellence, fully integrated within institutions of higher learning, that serve as a vital source of leaders who are prepared to meet the nation’s need for safe, efficient and environmentally sound movement of people and goods. It's mission is to advance U.S. technology and expertise in the many disciplines comprising transportation through the mechanisms of education, research and technology transfer at university-based centers of excellence.
Midwest Transportation Consortium:
The MTC is the UTC Program for federal region 7, which includes Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. Iowa State University, through its Center for Transportation Research and Education, is the MTC’s lead institution. ISU is partnering with the University of Missouri-Columbia through UMC’s Transportation Infrastructure Center. It also consists of four junior partner institutions: University of Northern Iowa, University of Missouri at Kansas City, University of Missouri at St. Louis, and Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. The MTC is committed to building transportation research and education programs at the junior partner universities and to assuring region-wide participation in its research and technology transfer activities.
Midwest Roadside Safety Facility:
The MwRSF has a broad mission to conduct research in all aspects of highway design and safety. MwRSF conducts safety performance evaluations of many various roadside appurtenances and develops innovative design concepts and technologies in the area of highway safety.
Office of Social and Economic Development:
OSEDA conducts projects focusing on important public policy issues. OSEDA projects always involve partnerships with state and/or local organizations. Projects vary in scope and most are externally funded. MoDOT's OR and OSEDA recently received AASHTO's 2003 Trailblazer award for Social Economic Indicator Resource Model linked below.
