Grand
Opening of Hayti Bypass
What's the problem?
Route 412 connects Missouri, Tennessee, and Arkansas
as well as Hayti and Kennett. The traffic volumes have required an upgrade
to the two-lane roadway
What's the solution?
By upgrading Route 412
to four lanes, MoDOT can meet the current and future traffic demands as well
as improve safety along the route. The route was upgraded from Hayti to
Kennett, the heaviest traveled portion. A bypass was constructed to connect
Interstates 55 and 155 with Route 412, so through traffic doesn't have to travel
through the city. The St. Francis River Bridge into Arkansas was replaced with a four-lane
structure.
Where does it stand now?
The final phase was completed in early July 2007. A ribboncutting ceremony was held on June 29.
What's the estimated cost?
$65 million.
