MoDOT, District 8, Springfield -- Drivers can expect one-lane traffic and delays on Greene County Route MM through Brookline beginning the week of May 9.
A resurfacing project is scheduled to begin on Thursday, May 12, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
A contractor crew is scheduled to grind off sections of old pavement between Route 60/413 east of Republic and I-44 north of Brookline and then resurface the roadway.
Here's the schedule, subject to change in case of bad weather:
* Thursday and Friday, May 12 and 13 -- One-lane traffic possible when crews grind off the top layer of pavement in several areas.
* Monday through Wednesday, May 16 through 18 -- One-lane traffic where paving crew is working.
* Crews will be working on the roadway from roughly 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone.
Drivers are urged to slow down when approaching the project and be prepared to stop.
The entire 2.6-mile length of Route MM will receive a new 1-3/4 inch driving surface.
The prime contractor on the project is APAC-Missouri of Columbia for a low bid amount of $170,206.
