Hollister/U.S. 65 Interchange Construction
Update for Week of May 30
No work scheduled for Monday, May 30, Memorial Day.
Work scheduled:
Rock blasting along U.S. 65 north of Route 165.
Rock and dirt grading for new U.S. 65 northbound lanes between Route 165 and Mall Road.
Construction of new Business 65 overpass.
Box culvert installation across Industrial Boulevard.
Installing storm drain system and pouring concrete for curb and gutter along Route V near College of the Ozarks.
Rock hauling in the area of the new interchange.
Highway lighting and traffic signal wiring installed near U.S. 65 and Business 65.
Impact on Traffic:
Traffic stopped on U.S. 65 north of Route 165 during blasting. The traffic stops should last no longer than five mintues. However, the stops could last longer at times.
Traffic stopped occasionally for short periods on Mall and Birch Roads to allow dump trucks to cross the road.
Be alert for trucks turning on to and off of Route V near the new overpass.
One-lane traffic on Industrial Boulevard.
Watch for equipment close to traffic on Route V near College of the Ozarks.
All other work planned should take place AWAY from traffic.
Work zone speed limit on U.S. 65: 45 mph.
Project background: Construction of U.S. 65/Business 65 interchange and overpass for Business 65 north of new interchange and widening of U.S. 65 to four lanes along 1.6 miles (2,000 feet north of Bus. 65/Route V to just south of Route 165.)
Cost: $19.2 million (low bid), shared by MoDOT, City of Hollister and Taney County.
Prime contractor: W.A. Ellis Construction of Independence.
Scheduled completion: Fall 2006.
