MoDOT, District 8, Springfield -- A lane on either side of Interstate 44 east of Lebanon is scheduled to be closed on Monday, April 4, when a bridge flushing operation begins, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
The MoDOT crew will begin work Monday on the bridges over the Gasconade River near Hazelgreen, closing one lane at a time on the eastbound side and again on the westbound side of I-44.
Then the crew will work toward the west through Laclede County, washing salt residue and other debris off the pavement and under-side of the bridges that carry I-44 traffic.
The operation is scheduled to take four to five working days, moving through Laclede County and Webster County, approaching Marshfield.
The bridge flushing crew will start at about 7 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. each day.
Rain will cause delays.
Drivers are urged to merge carefully and be alert in the work zones that will be set up for the lane closings at the bridges.
