MoDOT, District 8, Springfield -- Drivers can expect one-lane traffic and delays on Route 5 between Ava and Mansfield when a resurfacing project begins the week of April 11, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
A contractor crew is scheduled to lay a new asphalt surface on Route 5 beginning just north of Route 14 in Ava. The operation will move north to Business Route 60 in Mansfield.
Flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone. Drivers are urged to slow down when approaching the project and be prepared to stop.
Crews plan to work Monday through Friday from roughly 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day.
The work is expected to take 16 working days.
Route 5 will receive a new 1-3/4 inch driving surface on this stretch of roadway.
The prime contractor on the project is APAC-Missouri of Columbia for a low bid amount of $874,022.
