MoDOT, District 8, Springfield -- A half-mile section of westbound Route 60 between Highland Springs Country Club and the Lake Springfield bridge is scheduled to be resurfaced at night beginning Sunday night, May 22, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Drivers can expect one westbound lane at a time to be blocked between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday night through Friday night, May 27.
Traffic will have to slow down and merge into the open lane.
Bright work lights will illuminate the area where crews and equipment are located.
A contractor crew will grind off a portion of the driving surface and then lay down a new two-inch layer of asphalt.
The crews are working at night to reduce traffic congestion.
The contractor doing the work is APAC-Missouri of Columbia, for a low-bid amount of $117,254.
