Traffic Impacts:
• Republic Road closed starting January 15 through Fall 2008 between a point east of Charleston Avenue and Glenstone Avenue (Bus. Route 65)
• Closing of Harvard Avenue and Boulder Avenue at Republic Road
• Nighttime lane closings at times on eastbound Route 60 at Glenstone Avenue
EMERGENCY RESPONSE agencies are notified of closings and planning alternate routes to serve areas near the closed section of Republic Road
During Construction:
• Drivers WILL be able to access the Springfield Family Y on Republic Road from the west side of the road closing
• Drivers WILL be able to access the Springfield Conservation Nature Center from Glenstone Avenue on the east side of the Republic Road closing
Project:
• Build new right-turning, free-flowing loop on-ramp for southbound Glenstone Avenue to eastbound Route 60 and eliminate left-turn lanes on the bridge
• Realign eastbound Route 60 off-ramp to new intersection, with traffic signals, at Republic Road and realigned Harvard Avenue west of Glenstone Avenue
• Raise low-lying Republic Road and widen to five lanes
• Existing eastbound Route 60 on-ramp will remain in place for right turns only from eastbound Republic Road and northbound Glenstone Avenue
