Final Layer of Asphalt
and Pavement Striping
Planned for Week of Nov. 8 on U.S. 60/Route 413

- The final layer of asphalt is scheduled to
be laid on U.S. 60/Route 413 on Monday and Tuesday,
November 8 and 9, the Missouri Department of Transportation
said.
Once the paving is complete, pavement stripes will be
applied.
Traffic will be shifted away from where crews are working
on the paving and striping operations.
A 600-foot long section of Route P south of Route 60/413
will be resurfaced. Be alert for one-lane traffic on
Route P.
At mid-week, concrete medians will be built at various
locations along U.S. 65/Route 413. Traffic will be shifted
away from this work.
Lane closings are possible at Hines and Elm streets
when crews work to install wiring in the new traffic
signals.
Other work scheduled will take place AWAY from traffic.
Concrete will be poured for sidewalks, sod will be laid
and a new chain link fence will be installed at Hines
Street south of the highway.
No night work is planned for the week.
Rain will cause delays in the project. Week
of November 15
Crews are scheduled to continue to build new concrete
medians on U.S. 60/Route 413 and install traffic signals
at Hines and Elm streets.
Lanes will be closed where crews are set up.
Street lighting will be installed along U.S. 60/Route
413.
Concrete will be poured for sidewalks AWAY from traffic.
Background
The prime contractor on the $6.1-million widening project
along U.S.60/Route 413 in Republic is Journagan Construction
of Springfield. Some sewer and water line work is being
done by the City of Republic, a partner with MoDOT on
the project.
The project involves adding a lane in each direction
and rebuilding city street approaches and driveway entrances
between Hines Street and West Avenue, with work continuing
into the fall. |
