Christian County

Roadway Maintenance -

Route 125 Sealing Project:  between Chadwick and Linden (Christian County)

MoDOT crews will seal Route 125 between Chadwick and Linden with a mixture of rock and oil.  Flaggers and a pilot car will direct drivers through the work zone one lane at a time. 

The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph where crews are working.  Work hours:  7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Crew members from Ozark will mow Route 14.

Watch for lane closings and slow-moving work vehicles.  Obey flaggers.

Dallas County

Construction Projects -

Route 65 Widening: Fair Grove to Dallas County Route EE (Greene/Dallas counties)

Contractor crews will blast rock south of Route 38/Dallas County Route TT up to twice a day – once around noon and once around 6 p.m.  Route 65 traffic will be slowed and possibly stopped just prior to the blast and could remain stopped for up to 10 minutes. 

Crews will grade rock and dirt and install drain pipes in various locations throughout the project.  Crews also will build large box culverts. 

Be alert for dump trucks and concrete trucks entering and leaving Route 65 in various areas.

The work is part of a project to widen Route 65 to four lanes between Route 125/CC at Fair Grove and Dallas County Route EE.  New intersections will be built at Dallas County Route AA, Route 215/Dallas County Route OO, Route 38/Dallas County Route TT and Dallas County Route EE.  Project completion: December 2009.

Route 65 Resurfacing:  Preston to Buffalo (Hickory and Dallas Counties)

Drivers can expect nighttime work in the intersection of Route 65 and Route 32 in Buffalo.  Contract crews will grind off the old asphalt, reinstall traffic signal detector loops in the pavement and resurface the intersection.  Crews will work 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday.  One-lane traffic and traffic shifts are possible where crews are working.

The work is part of a project to resurface Route 65 between Preston and Buffalo.  Project completion: June 2008.

Crew members from Bolivar will patch Route 38.

Buffalo and Preston will patch various routes.

Wheatland and Plad crew members will spray herbicides to control weeds along various routes.

Greene County

Construction Projects -

Route 65 Widening: between Springfield and Fair Grove (Greene County)

HEADS UP:  Bluegrass Road on the west side of Route 65 is closed until Monday, May 19.  Contractor crews will build the new intersection of the county road with the new southbound lanes of Route 65 and pave the new southbound lanes of Route 65 at the intersection. 

Crews will pave the new southbound lanes starting at the south end of the project near Valley Water Mill Road and work north.  The work will take place AWAY from traffic.

Crews will grade rock and dirt on the west side of Route 65 on either side of Greene County Route KK.

Crews will work on the four bridges being built on the west side of existing Route 65.

Crews will apply grass seed and mulch in various locations.

The work is part of a project to widen Route 65 to four lanes between Springfield and Fair Grove and build new crossovers at intersections with state routes and Bluegrass Road. 

Scheduled completion: December 2008.

Route 65 Widening: Fair Grove to Dallas County Route EE (Greene/Dallas counties)

Route 60/Glenstone Avenue Interchange:  Springfield (Greene County)

Republic Road remains closed between a point east of Charleston Avenue and a point west of Old Glenstone Avenue through fall 2008. 

Crews will install box culverts in several locations, install drain pipes and relocate utility lines along the closed section of Republic Road.  Conduit will be installed for street lighting along Republic Road. 

Drivers may be stopped on Glenstone Avenue at Old Glenstone at times to allow dump trucks to cross the road.

Drivers are urged to use Glenstone Avenue, Route 60 (James River Freeway) and National Avenue to get around the closing of Republic Road.

The work scheduled is part of a project to rebuild and relocate the eastbound Route 60 ramps, raise and widen Republic Road to five lanes and build a new intersection at Republic Road/Harvard Avenue/Route 60 eastbound ramps. 

Scheduled completion: Fall 2008.

Chestnut Expressway (Loop 44)/National Avenue Intersection Widening:  Springfield (Greene County)

Contractor crews will install street lighting, build sidewalks and build a retaining wall on the southeast corner of the intersection.

Drivers can expect lane closings and turn lane closings at National Avenue and Chestnut Expressway. 

EARLY HEADS UP:  The intersection of National Avenue and Chestnut Expressway is scheduled to be closed for a final weekend on Friday, May 30, to allow crews to lay the final layer of asphalt and to apply permanent pavement striping in the intersection.  National Avenue north and south of Chestnut Expressway will be closed beginning at 9 a.m. on May 30.  Chestnut Expressway east and west of National Avenue will be closed to traffic at 7 p.m. May 30.  The intersection will reopen to traffic by 6 a.m. Monday, June 2. 

The work is part of a project to add dual left-turn lanes in all four directions, build new right-turn lanes on three of the four corners (a right turn-lane already exists on the southeast corner), smooth out the intersection and add new traffic signals. 

Scheduled completion: August 2008.     

Route 266 Relocation/Airport Boulevard Construction - west of Springfield (Greene County)

Contractor crews will work on the Chestnut Expressway bridge over I-44. Chestnut Expressway traffic is shifted to the eastbound lanes, with only one lane of traffic in each direction.  

Crews will grade dirt and install drain pipes along the new Airport Boulevard.  Crews will build columns for the new bridge over the railroad tracks – AWAY from traffic. 

Farm Road 107 (Kaylor Road) is closed to traffic. 

The new Airport Boulevard will parallel Farm Road 107 (Kaylor Road) between Route 266 and Route EE (West Division Street). 

The project involves building Airport Boulevard between Route 266 and the new Springfield-Branson National Airport terminal, building a new round-about at the intersection of Airport Boulevard, Route EE and Farm Road 124, relocating Route 266 to the north of the existing roadway and rehabilitating the Chestnut Expressway bridge over I-44. 

Scheduled completion: December 2008.

Route AA and WW resurfacing projects:  north of Springfield (Greene County)

One-lane traffic is possible early in the week on Greene County Route AA between Route 65 and Route H north of Springfield.  A contractor crew will resurface the roadway. 

When the Route AA project is complete, crews will move to Greene County Route WW in the Ebenezer area.  One-lane traffic is planned between Route 13 and Route H.

Roadway Maintenance -

Crew members from Conway will make pavement repairs on I-44 at night inside the city limits of Springfield.  Work hours:  7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Sunday to Wednesday.

Sunshine crew members will mow I-44, repair the pavement on Glenstone Avenue south of Chestnut Expressway and repair a storm grate on Glenstone Avenue north of Chestnut Expressway.  Crews will spray herbicides to control weeds along Route 413, West Bypass, Glenstone Avenue, Kansas Expressway and Routes D and J.  Crews will repair erosion along Route 60 at the Routes 60/65 interchange, repair and replace signs, straighten white plastic lane delineators and pick up litter along various routes.

Crew members from Springfield will mow I-44, repair roadway edges on Routes C, AA, CC and WW.  Crews will pick up litter and repair white plastic delineators along I-44.

Crew members from Clever will clean out ditches along Route P.

Walnut Grove crew members will patch and mow various routes.

Crew members from Republic will mow Route 60, spray herbicides to control weeds, sweep shoulders and straighten white plastic lane delineators. 

Crews will replace signs along Routes MM and AB.  This operation will mean one-lane traffic in various locations and a stop-and-go operation.

Plad crew members will spray herbicides to control weeds along Route 13.

Hickory County

Construction Project -

Laclede County

Construction Project -

Interchange Reconstruction:  I-44/Mile Marker 127, Lebanon (Laclede County)

The Exit 127 bridge over I-44 is closed to traffic until May 21.  The bridge has been torn down and is now being replaced.  During the week, crews will finish work on the bridge.

The new westbound I-44 on ramp is open to traffic. However, westbound I-44 traffic will continue to be narrowed to two 10-foot lanes and the speed limit on I-44 is reduced to 60 mph.

Both eastbound ramps and Morgan Road are open to traffic. 

Crews will build new approaches to the new bridge and rebuild a portion of Elm Street between Route W and the new bridge.

While the Exit 127 bridge is closed, drivers will have to use other routes to reach one side or the other of the interchange.  The closest state routes off of I-44 are Route 5/Route 32 to the east (Mile Marker 129) and the interchange to the west (Mile Marker 123) to Route W.

The project involves replacing the bridge over I-44 at Mile Marker 127, reconfiguring the ramps and building a new intersection on the north side of the interchange. 

The City of Lebanon is a partner with MoDOT in this project.

Roadway Maintenance -

Lebanon crew members will mow and pick up litter along I-44.

Crew members from Nebo will patch potholes on various routes and mow along Routes 32, 95, B, K, O, U, AC and AD. 

Dove crew members will mow Routes D, E, NN and VV.

Stone County

Construction Project -

Route 13 Relocation: Branson West (Stone County)

Traffic shifts are possible on Route 13 at the three new intersections.  Contractor crews will replace asphalt in some areas on the new highway.

The connections between the new lanes of Route 13 and Business 13 (Old Route 13) on the North and South edges of Branson West are open to traffic.  Drivers should be alert for a new driving pattern, including stop signs for Business Route 13 for traffic wanting to enter and cross the new lanes of Route 13.  Route 13 traffic does NOT have to stop. 

Signals are being scheduled for installation at the new North and South intersections.

Drivers can access Business Route 13 at either end of Branson West or by using the extension of Route 76 between Business 13 and the new lanes of Route 13.

The project relocates a 2.23-mile section of Route 13 west of the existing highway.  Route 76 has been extended to meet the new roadway. 

The project is nearing completion.

Route 86 Sealing Project:  between Ridgedale and the Stone/Barry county line (Stone and Taney counties)

MoDOT crews will seal Route 86 between Route 65 at Ridgedale and the Stone/Barry County line near Carr Lane.  Flaggers and a pilot car will direct drivers through the work zone

one lane at a time.

The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph where crews are working.  Work hours:  7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Stone County Route EE Sealing Project:  from Route 13 to its end (Stone County)

MoDOT crews will seal Route EE from Route 13 to its end.  Flaggers and a pilot car will direct drivers through the work zone one lane at a time.

The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph where crews are working.  Work hours:  7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Crew members from Galena will mow various routes.

Watch for lane closings and slow-moving work vehicles.  Obey flaggers.

Taney County

Construction Projects -

Route 65 Widening: Between Hollister and the Missouri/Arkansas state line (Taney County)

All four lanes of Route 65 are open to traffic.  However, it may be necessary to close lanes occasionally to allow crews to do clean up work throughout the project.

   

The commuter lot near the Route 65/86 intersection is open.

The work is part of a project to widen Route 65 to four lanes between Hollister and the Missouri/Arkansas state line and build outer roads to connect county road entrances to four intersections along the roadway.  New intersections were built at Rochester Road, Route 86, Route 265 and Branson Creek Road.  New traffic signals are installed at the Route 265 and 86 intersections.  The project is nearing completion.

Routes 160 and 76 Bridge Painting Projects (Taney County)

Temporary traffic signals are alternating one-lane traffic across the Bull Shoals Lake bridge on Route 76. During morning and afternoon rush hours, local law enforcement agencies will direct drivers through the work zone. Contractor crews are finishing a project to paint the overhead steel trusses on the bridge. 

The speed limit through the work zone is 35 mph.  Drivers are urged to obey the traffic signals and NOT to proceed across the bridge until the signal turns green.

The project to repaint the overhead steel trusses of the Route 160 bridge over Swan Creek has been completed and the project to repaint the Route 76 bridge over Bull Shoals Lake east of Forsyth is scheduled for completion by mid-May.

Route 86 Sealing Project:  between Ridgedale and the Stone/Barry county line (Stone and Taney counties)

Webster County

Construction Projects -

Route 38 (Spur Drive) Widening:  Marshfield (Webster County)

Crews will work to widen the intersection of Webster County Route CC/Route 38.  Route 38 traffic may be shifted away from where crews are set up.  There also may be lane closings and traffic shifts on Route CC.

Guardrail will be installed at the widened eastbound off ramp at I-44 and Route 38.

It may be necessary to close some city streets at times to rebuild intersections.

Drivers should be alert for narrowed business entrances.  Drivers can still access all of the businesses. 

The project includes widening Route 38 to five lanes and adding new traffic signals at Route CC, Banning Street and Jefferson Street.

Scheduled completion:  August 2008.

Marshfield crew members will mow I-44.

Mountain Grove, Fordland, Seymour, Hartville and Manes crew members will mow Route 60.

Wright County

Route 60 Concrete Repairs:  Mountain Grove to Cabool (Wright and Texas counties)

One eastbound lane of Route 60 will be closed between Route 95 and Texas County Route MM in the Mountain Grove area because of concrete pavement repairs being done by crews from Willow Springs, Mountain Grove and Manes. After concrete patches are poured, the lane will remain closed overnight to allow concrete to harden. 

When a lane is closed the speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph in the open lane.

The project involves concrete pavement repairs in the eastbound lanes and then the westbound lanes of Route 60 between Mountain Grove and Cabool through May.
