
MoDOT, elected officials and community leaders in Jefferson County broke ground March 2, 2012, for the widening project. The event marks the start of construction to widen McNutt Road between I-55 and Routes 61/67. MoDOT will also relocate the Scenic Drive intersection in Herculaneum.

Why Does McNutt Road Need Improvements?
McNutt Road between Interstate 55 and Route 61/67 needs to be widened to accommodate the capacity of traffic that use this roadway on a daily basis.
What Improvements on McNutt Road Are Being Proposed?
MoDOT will widen McNutt Road to four thru lanes with additional turn lanes. Also, the Scenic Drive intersection will be relocated approximately 300 feet to the east of the existing intersection.
How Will Traffic Be Impacted While Construction Is Under Way?
During construction, MoDOT will maintain traffic flow with flagging operations, causing minor disruptions.
When Will Construction Take Place?
Construction is scheduled to begin in early March 2012 and will be complete by early November 2012. This project was awarded to Vee Jay Cement Contracting for approximately $5.8 million.
