St. Louis City Construction - 2012
The following construction projects are projected to be completed in St. Louis City in the following year.
I-64, double deck earthquake retrofit - Work continues on the earthquake retrofit of the I-64 double deck between 21st Street and the Poplar Street Bridge. This project requires weekday lane closures and ramp closures on I-64. Work is scheduled to be complete by spring 2012.
I-64, double deck driving surface replacement - This project will remove and replace portions of the driving surface of the double deck between Market Street and the Poplar Street Bridge in both directions. This work will involve closing traffic lanes on both eastbound and westbound I-64 during the week, and will require weekend closures of the interstate. This project will start in spring 2012 and be complete in spring 2013.
Jamieson Bridge over I-44 - This project to remove and replace the Jamieson bridge over I-44 is almost complete. Crews have to complete some painting work on the bridge girders. Work should be completed in spring 2012.
Route 115 and Route H, resurfacing - This project to resurface Route 115 (Natural Bridge Road) and Route H (Riverside Drive) is moving along. Crews have finished the asphalt and restriping work on Salisbury between I-70 and Route 115 and have finished the asphalt work and mainline striping on Route 115. They will complete striping work on Route 115 in early spring 2012.
Route 30 and I-44, pedestrian improvements - This project will make pedestrian improvements on Route 30 (Gravois) from the city limits to I-55 and on I-44 at the Hampton, Kingshighway, Vandeventer, Grand and Jefferson. Work will start in early 2012 and be completed in December 2012.
I-70, ramp drainage grate replacements - This project will replace drainage grates on I-70 from west of Bermuda to east of St. Louis Avenue. This project will aso improve the pedestrian crossings on the ramps and cross roads. Drivers can expect temporary, off-peak lane closures. Work will start in late spring 2012 and be complete in fall 2012.
