Lindbergh from New Halls Ferry Road (Route AC) to Jamestown Mall. Safety improvements will be made to reduce the speed limit, add radar speed indicators, add median islands at isolated locations and construct new pedestrian crosswalks. This project is scheduled to begin in Summer 2008.

Completed Projects 2007

Southbound I-170 South of the I-270 Interchange.  A merge lane will be added at southbound I-170 just south of the I-270 interchange.  Merging into this lane will allow traffic full access of the two lane ramp that already exists. Currently, the ramp is only striped for one lane of traffic because of the lack of space. Constructing a new merge lane will ease congestion and increase safety. Construction of the new merge lane began spring 2007 and was completed in late 2007.

I-70 West Interchange to Rte. 67 West Interchange.  Diamond grinding and striping of the total length of the improvement being 2.3 miles.  Contract awarded to Penhall Company at a project cost  of $240,000.  Notice to proceed date was October 11, 2005.  Completion date of November 2006.

Railroad Bridge over Rte. 67, North of Lambert Airport. The pavement and drainage will be improved under the railroad bridge. The railroad bridge will not be replaced as originally planned. Project started in summer 2007 and was completed in late 2007.

Route 67, Lewis and Clark Bridge from St. Charles (Leads to Alton, Deck Rehabilitation Project) - This project started Summer 2006 and was completed in Summer 2007. The project involves replacing the expansion joints, structural repair to the steel beams under the deck, and replacing the wearing surface.

Rte. 367 Update:

Project History

  • A project to convert Rte. 367 to an uninterrupted freeway from I-270 to New Jamestown Road began summer 2005. This project will greatly relieve congestion along Rte. 367. This project was completed in late 2007.

  • This project converted the existing outer roads (Lusher and Benham) to one-way outer roads. Once construction was completed, Dunn, Redman and Parker roads run under Rte. 367. New Jamestown Rd. goes over the highway. The project will removed all the traffic lights along mainline Rte. 367.
