Page Avenue (Route 364)

Veterans Memorial Bridge (6/04)

WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW

MoDOT is starting construction on a portion of the second phase of the Page Extension on Route 364.  This current construction project, which will be completed in fall 2009, will extend Route 364 another mile (basically following Route 94) and will build a one-way outer road system, retaining walls and an improved interchange.  This improved interchange will include ramps from the freeway to Harvester Road and a bridge to take Harvester Road over Route 364.  This work will mean that traffic on Route 364 will not have a signal from Interstate 270 to Jungermann Road.

Crews are currently removing dirt from the south side of Route 94, west of Harvester and stockpiling it. Additionally, utility crews are working on utility relocation.  Most of the utility work should be completed by the end of winter. The construction of the new outer roads should begin in spring 2008.  Traffic on Route 94 can expect a traffic switch in August 2008.

The project is expected to be complete by fall 2009.

PHASE 2

Along Rte. 94 from east of Harvester Rd. to Mid Rivers Mall Dr.

Projects currently under construction:

  • Route 364 from west of Jungs Station Road to west of Harvester Road. Construction on the second phase is under way. MoDOT has completed some grading and drainage work near Harvester Road to accommodate utility relocation work.  Further construction on the outer roads and other aspects of the project are not expected to begin until late summer 2007.  The project includes bridge construction at Harvester Road as well as the construction of the one-way outer road system. New roadway grade will be 25 feet below existing Harvester Road.  Utility relocation work should be in full swing by spring 2007. The work should be complete by fall 2009.

Proposed projects (Some right of way and construction funding has been secured)

  • Route 364 from west of Harvester Road to west of Jungermann Road. Includes bridge construction at Woodstone and Jungermann Roads, as well as construction of the Rte. 364 outer roads. Much of this project has been designed and right of way is being purchased. The Federal Highway bill passed in September 2005 earmarked $20 million for Phase 2 of Rte. 364. MoDOT is using that money to buy right of way and fund utility relocation work.  MoDOT still needs to identify $25 million or more additional dollars to fund the construction of this project.  No construction start date has been set.
  • Route 364 from west of Jungermann Road to Mid Rivers Mall Drive. Includes bridge construction at Central School Road, Kisker Road and Mid Rivers Mall Drive, as well as construction of the Rte. 364 outer roads. Some right-of-way is being bought and some design work has been completed. No money has been allocated for construction. No construction start date has been set.
  • Estimated cost in 2007 dollars to purchase the right of way and finish construction on Phase 2 of Route 364 from West of Harvester Road to Mid Rivers Mall Drive is $118 million.

PHASE 3

From Mid Rivers Mall Dr. to Rte. 40/61

Projects completed:

  • Route 364 future south outer road from Rte. K to Winghaven Blvd. Crews have completed work on the future Page Avenue (Route 364) south outer road project. The new south outer road runs parallel to Rte. N between Rte. K and Bates Rd. in the city of O’Fallon. View a map of the south outer road improvements. (107 kb, 1 page)

All other Phase 3 Route 364 projects (no funding has been secured):

  • Much design work has been completed. MoDOT has purchased approximately 50% of the right of way needed. Little money is available at this time to buy more property. No other money has been allocated for construction. No construction start dates have been set.
  • Estimated cost in 2007 dollars to purchase the remaining right of way and construct Phase 3 of Page Avenue is $140 million.
