I-64 Double-Decked Bridge Earthquake Strengthening

The double-decked section on the approach to the Poplar Street Bridge between 16th Street and 18th Streets in downtown St. Louis will undergo earthquake strengthening and repainting.  This construction work will have little impact to traffic.  In addition, various expansion joints will be replaced from Poplar Street Bridge to 21st Street with some disruption to traffic but this construction work will take place only on weekends.  This $5 million project will begin August 2006 and will be complete in Summer 2007.

May 2006 – Bid Letting

August 2006 – Construction Begins

Summer 2007 – Construction Ends

I-64 Outer Roadway at 15th Street and 18th Streets

MoDOT will be constructing a new outer road along I-64 between 15th Street and 18th Streets to address the traffic needs in this area.   There will be no traffic delays or closures to I-64. This $3 million project will begin construction in August 2006 and will be complete in Summer 2007.

Summer 2007 – Construction Complete
