MoDOT holds public hearing for Gravois Road and Tesson Ferry Road intersection project

ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Department of Transportation held a public hearing on proposed intersection improvements at Gravois Road (Route 30) and Tesson Ferry Road (Route 21) in south St. Louis County. The hearing was held Tuesday April 8 at Seven Holy Founders Church on 6820 Aliceton. At this public hearing, residents learned about the project and discussed the proposed intersection improvements. Maps and other detailed project information were available at the public hearing.

MoDOT is proposing to add a dual westbound left turn lane from Gravois Road (Route 30) to southbound Tesson Ferry Road (Route 21), a dual northbound left turn lane from Tesson Ferry (Route 21) to westbound Gravois Road (Route 30) and add a right turn lane from eastbound Gravois Road (Route 30) to southbound Tesson Ferry Road (Route 21). These improvements will reduce delays at the intersection.

This hearing is an open-house style hearing, which means no formal presentations will be made.  Attendees may discuss the project and offer comments at any time during the hearing, and will have the opportunity to document your comments.  Written statements will be made a part of the hearing if received within 10 days after the date of the public hearing.

MoDOT Holds Public Open House for Route MM Environmental Impact Study

ST. LOUIS - The Missouri Department of Transportation hosted a public open house to kick-off the next phase of planning major safety improvements to Route MM between Route 30 on the west and Route 21 on the east. The event was held Thursday, February 7, 2008 at the House Springs Intermediate School, 6180 Highway MM, House Springs, MO.

The purpose of the Route MM Environmental Impact Study is to examine the economic, social and environmental impacts associated with relocating or realigning this corridor. The study is the required next step when seeking federal funding for major transportation improvements.

At the open house, attendees learned what will occur during the study and provide input and share concerns about existing conditions along the corridor that could affect potential improvements. MoDOT officials and their consultants were available to answer questions.

MoDOT holds public meeting for Route 30 and Geyer safety project

ST. LOUISThe Missouri Department of Transportation held a public meeting on plans for a safety project at the intersections of Route 30 and Geyer Road/Sappington Barracks and Lockhaven Place. The meeting took place January 15, 2008 at Mehlville Fire House #5, 11020 Mueller Road, St. Louis, MO, 63123.

At this meeting, MoDOT presented two alternatives to improve safety at this intersection.  There have been a significant number of serious injury crashes from vehicles turning left onto Route 30.

The work will be completed in late 2008.
